Walking through Brugge, Belgium in the Spring earlier this year I was able to admire the lovely craftmanship. The detail and artistry seen in the fine lace pieces made in Belgium as well as the detail in their chocolates was phenomenol. I miss this small quaint town and look forward to going back to Brussels Belgium next year when I return to France. xoxoxo, Niomi

Watching 60 minutes this sunday it was am honor to see the

legendary Anna Wintour speak with Morley Safir about her 20 year

riegn at Vogue MAgazine. Andre Leon Talley and Grace Coddington

all interjected during the interview with their own ideas about her

and how her "intimidating" presence is almost deliberate. 

The interview also included segments on Dior hiring John Galliano

under Wintour recommendation and the rise of Nicholas Ghesquiere.

Both designers spoke of how influential Wintour has been in their careers.

" Quintessential " advice from Cornelia Ercklentz

I came across an old 2004 article in quinessential fashion and

found her advice so inspirational. Even being the high powered

corporate executive she is; she wrote that it is essential to include

time to be comfortable in your own skin. Its also important to mix

high fashion with inexpensive items. She also wrote about shopping at 

inexpensive places like Old Navy and H & M. I think it is important to

always include fashion from all walks, cultures and prices.

Fashion and Jewelry ... A Perfect Combination

Looking through old archives of fashion magazine's I came across an article on Maria Callas.

Having been an opera singer she was also known as an icon for style and her over the top jewelry.

In 2004 Sotheby's auctioned off this 11.7 carat Marquise ring.

New-York born Callas, "who performed at Milan's La Scala opera house, became one of the 20th century's most iconic figures and is credited with the almost single-handed revival of Italian bel canto opera. She died in 1977 aged 53. The auction has attracted interest from Athens, which has previously bought relics that once belonged to the soprano."All I can say is that we are interested," said Greek Culture Ministry official Panayiotis Kakoliris. He would not say how much Greece was prepared to spend or how funds would be raised. Born Maria Kalogeropoulos, Callas first performed in Greece when she was 18 and is adored by even those who are not opera fans".
